Lead Electrical Engineer

Lead Electrical Engineer

Our projects are challenging, innovative and very diverse.

At ZEST-Innovate, you won't be working in a large, hierarchical company, but in a close-knit team where everyone knows each other and makes a difference together. You're the linchpin in a compact and close-knit team. You're adept at maintaining an overview and helping colleagues maximize their strengths. You'll collaborate with your team on high-tech projects at the intersection of electrical engineering and mechatronics, ensuring that your small team makes a significant impact.

Why this role is truly a new challenge:

  • High-impact, high-tech projects: Work on challenging mechatronic systems for the high-tech industry, among others. Projects that push the boundaries of technology.
  • Responsibility & structure: You're the linchpin of the team. You maintain an overview, organize projects efficiently, and supervise a small team (2-3 engineers). You're both hands-on and a coach. You empower the team to its full potential.
  • Direct customer contact and coordination: You design smart electrical controls, maintain systems, perform calculations, and translate customer requirements into concrete solutions.
  • Self-direction & development: You'll manage the project and ensure documentation and handover (E-Plan, potentially PCB design). You'll take initiative and bring innovation to our team.
  • And you'll never be alone, because we do it together: you'll always rely on the entire ZEST team of smart, driven engineers who work together to ensure every project is a success.

Activities:

Component selection and electrical calculations:
  • You select suitable components and perform essential calculations such as power, thermal management and leakage current;
  • Maintenance, implementation and improvement of electrical systems: You contribute to optimizing and updating electrical systems and ensure that they meet design requirements and quality standards;
  • Providing structure within a small team: You ensure overview and efficiency in the projects and guide a team of 2-3 employees in organizing and prioritizing the work. In addition, you actively transfer knowledge regarding safety measures and standards for electrical circuits;
  • Documentation and transfer of projects: You draw up the required electrical documentation (in E-Plan) and ensure a smooth project transfer, providing feedback to fellow engineers if necessary to improve the design;
  • Providing direction to the team: the electrical team is young. This requires coaching and guidance from a more experienced engineer.

What do we ask?

  • You take initiative, are solution-oriented and are open to new developments;
  • You take responsibility and do everything you can to successfully complete assignments;
  • You have a HBO/WO education in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field and you have a lot of experience with E-plan and preferably also with PCB design;
  • You are a leader par excellence and enjoy involving colleagues in this;
  • You have an affinity with building and getting devices and systems working;
  • You are customer-oriented and can translate customer needs into concrete solutions and communicate clearly in both Dutch and English.

What do we offer?

  • A versatile position with plenty of room for personal initiative and development;
  • A competitive salary and good secondary employment conditions;
  • Lots of responsibility for your projects within a small, informal team;
  • Working in a pleasant environment, easily accessible;
  • Flexible working hours with attention to work-life balance.
