Three robots integrated into one production process

Production errors have a major impact. Deviations in the production process or the product must be detected at an early stage. GL Plastics wants to automate the production process with high quality and process control.

After the successful test phase, we proceeded to integrate with our client GL Plastics in Son. All products are inspected by sensors and cameras for manufacturing defects or other deviations. Before injection molding, an additional check was applied to ensure that all components are present in the mold. Then the products are automatically placed in trays, after which they are stacked. A fully automated process in which the operator must only offer basic components to the automation and purchase the filled trays.

EOAT application between two stations in two parallel processes

Three robots work in each other's work area with combined tools for an optimal handling process. With the aim of optimizing the ideal cycle time! The first robot prepares the basic products. A second robot picks up the basic components, removes the overmolded products from the mold and places the basic components for the next overmolding. The over-sprayed products are placed on a control table where a third robot takes care of the inspection and further processing.

The intake and removal process is integrated in one tool and all systems are coordinated. This with the aim of achieving a fully continuous process, high speeds, but still high accuracy and process control.

Second automation operational

This is the second automation we have been able to realize for GL PLastics. After the successful test phase at ZEST-Innovate on location, the engineers proceeded to integrate with the client. In the meantime, the installation has been completed satisfactorily.
